Singer Reetta Ristimäki is an experienced performer and music theatre artist, with over 20 years of experience. She is known as an idea rich and an energetic professional who has conceived and produced a number of memorable performances and events for diverse audiences.

Greta's Voice Studio is Reetta’s own singing school that offers vocal technique and stage expression training on a professional level.

Greta Productions is a new production company offering the planning and execution of high quality performances.

Singer Reetta Ristimäki

 

Reetta has worked as a professional singer and actor since young age. She has sung in various styles and worked with different genres of music theatre for 25 years. Her repertoire includes opera and classical music, but also theater music, ballads and evergreens. One of her specialties is film music, especially German-style cabaret. Reetta has made almost 50 stage premieres as a singer, actor, screenwriter, producer and director. Her voice type is lyric-dramatic soprano (lirico spinto).

 

Education

Reetta graduated from MA Music: Opera Singing and Vocal Training (Sibelius Academy, Helsinki) in 2000. In 1997 she completed a theater manager diploma (Theatre Academy, Helsinki). At the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she received training from teachers such as Professor Liisa Linko-Malmio and opera singer Ritva Auvinen. During her studies at the Sibelius Academy Opera department, Reetta did a year abroad at the Berlin Hochschule der Künst (1997-1998). Prior to her music studies in 2008, she received a postgraduate diploma in Teaching (University of Helsinki). Reetta finds continuous development vital and ever since her graduation from Sibelius Academy, she has trained her technique with Jo Estill, Tim Richards, Ian Nicholas, Helka Westmark and Ann-Marie Speed. For the past two years has travelled to Vienna to receive training from Irina Gavrilovic.

 

 

Repertoire

To name a few, Musetta in La Boheme, Die Fledermaus Rosalinde, Night in Venice Annina, The Magic Flute The 1. woman, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutti, La voix humaine Elle, Pagliaccio Nedda and Cavalleria Rusticana Santuzza. Reetta has performed lighter vocal styles in various new musicals and cabaret performances. By the maturation of the voice she has gradually shifted to sing also Verdi and Puccini's dramatic soprano roles. Reetta has premiered in a number of Finnish contemporary opera and other types of performances by composers such as mm. Markus Fagerudd, Juha T. Koskinen, Tommi Kärkkäinen, Uljas Pulkkis, Riikka Talvitie, Säde Bartling, Arttu Takalo and Kimmo Kuitunen.

 

Other responsibilities

Reetta was recently nominated as the director of the Finnish Chamber Opera. Previously, she has served as a director also for Music Theatre Kapsäkki (Helsinki) that she founded with her friends in 2000. In addition, Reetta has been part of the founding group of Ooppera Skaala that aims to produce innovative new chamber opera. Over the last decade, Reetta has also worked as a producer at Art goes Kapakka Festival (Helsinki) during eight years. Ooppera Skaala and Music Theatre Kapsäkki have both been awarded several times. Reetta has been granted the award of the Finnish Musician’s Union.

 

 

 

Greta's Voice Studio

Reetta teaches vocal technique and vocal expression in her own studio that in Finnish is called “Gretan laulustudio”. She teaches students of various ages and both professionals and amateurs. In addition to her own studio, Reetta is a visiting teacher at courses around Finland and abroad. Reetta Ristimäki is an experienced and skilled vocal pedagogue, with a university-level qualification in vocal training.  

 

Reetta is a member of the Professional Vocal Teacher’s Association.

 

Greta's vocal studio is located in the Kallio district in Helsinki at Kalliolanrinne 4. Trams 1,3 and 8 or Bus 51 The duration of the singing lesson is usually 30-60 minutes and it will be priced according to the duration. 60-min / 50 € (+ VAT 24%)

Greta Productions offers planning and execution of musical performances, cultural events and other happenings. We prepare a suitable concept, budget and a team for each of our clients. We also take care of content production, hiring performers and all practical arrangements.
